What Did Sooyoung Think About Jessica’s Hard Throw?

Sooyoung opened up on how she felt about fellow Girls’ Generation (SNSD) member Jessica’s spectacular baseball pitch.

The June 6 broadcast of SBS’ One Night of TV Entertainment looked into a variety of celebrity pitches.

According to the show, the first ever exhibitory pitch before a professional baseball game was thrown in 1982 by ex-president Chun Doo Hwan, and celebrity throws started in the same year when actress Lee Kyung Jin threw the first ball at the All Star Games.

The spot continued to be passed on to the biggest stars of the year, including actress Kang Soo Yeon of The Surrogate Womb, Chae Si Ra, Ha Ji Won and Lee Hyori.

Amidst the string of footage of first throws, Jessica’s throw also made it into the list. Jessica threw the first ball at the LG Twins vs. Samsung Lions game held on May 11.

The singer drew attention that day for having a perfect windup but an underwhelming pitch, and the throw even made it into overseas news reports as an example of how not to throw a ball.

Sooyoung, who was hosting One Night of TV Entertainment for the first time that day, joked, “[Jessica] made a pitch that won’t appear again for the next 10 years. I think I should be proud as a member of the same group.”
